My specialty areas since 1990 have been integrating Christianity and counseling, treating depression and anxiety, marital counseling, anger management, communication, co-dependency, pornography and sexual addiction, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), parenting and child and adolescent issues.  I have worked with clients of all ages, from preschool to senior adults, in both outpatient counseling and inpatient hospital settings.

Let me start by saying I love the counseling process.  Each one of us walks around everyday experiencing the good and bad of life.  Counseling is simply an opportunity to speak with someone who is trained and passionate about helping you walk through the difficult times.  I'm excited about stepping into this role with you.

As a Christian, I believe our fullest life is experienced with God.  I do recognize that each person enters into counseling at a different point in their faith life.  Often we even become angry with God believing that the injury we're suffering is His fault.  Wherever you are, that's the point I want to meet you.

I graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2010 where I received a Masters of Arts in Counseling.  Attending a counseling program through seminary brought out a very interesting perspective as I was able to integrate faith alongside the theory and practice within traditional psychology.  I have experience working with groups, individuals, marriage, couples and families.

I have been providing counseling services to adults, adolescents and children at the Healing Heart Counseling Center since 1995 as a Counselor intern and now as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I provide individual, marital & family counseling.

I have experience in several of the mental health fields. I've worked with chronically mentally ill adults in an inpatient hospital setting and intensive out-patient therapy. I have provided group and individual therapy. I have also provided inpatient didactic therapy groups focusing on coping and stress relief skills.

I worked for two years at an outpatient mental health center with children and teenagers who struggled with depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, learning disabilities, conduct disorders and oppositional defiance disorder.

I have also worked with opiate dependent clients at a local medical clinic for approximately a year and a half. I’ve worked with clients concerning addiction, relapse prevention, poly-substance abuse, stress relief as well as treatment for depression and anxiety.

I have been actively involved in my church, Christian Center since 1999. I've enjoyed working with the youth and the youth band. My interests and hobbies include cars, hot rods, racing, remodeling, movies, video games and LSU football. I enjoy fellowship with and serving others.
