Erik Rasmussen, LPC Intern

Let me start by saying I love the counseling process.  Each one of us walks around everyday experiencing the good and bad of life.  Counseling is simply an opportunity to speak with someone who is trained and passionate about helping you walk through the difficult times.  I'm excited about stepping into this role with you.

As a Christian, I believe our fullest life is experienced with God.  I do recognize that each person enters into counseling at a different point in their faith life.  Often we even become angry with God believing that the injury we're suffering is His fault.  Wherever you are, that's the point I want to meet you.

I graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2010 where I received a Masters of Arts in Counseling.  Attending a counseling program through seminary brought out a very interesting perspective as I was able to integrate faith alongside the theory and practice within traditional psychology.  I have experience working with groups, individuals, marriage, couples and families.

Client Comments:

"Erik has done an awesome job and helps provide an unbiased point of view.  I recommend him to as many people as I can."

"Erik has been kind, patient and inspirational in our journey to work on our marriage.  His spiritual focus has been invaluable."

"Erik has been fabulous.  He has helped me take a hard look at how I handle situations and given me a different approach.  When I first met him I thought this guy is way too young to help me but he has proven otherwise.  I have been to several other counselors but have never really felt good about our sessions as I do with Erik.  I am so pleased with him and this organization that I recommend him to everyone I know."

"I was a little bit unsure of how the counseling experience woudl be, but the staff and Erik set me at ease immediately."

Endorsements:

"I have seen and can speak to Erik’s love of God, his heart for people, and his desire to see the two merge in a way that brings wholeness and restoration to the lives of people in need. One of the things that I most admire about Erik is his ability to be completely present while engaged in conversation. Too many people are distracted and looking beyond the person in front of them. Not so with Erik. I have found him to be wonderfully focused and actively listening to the conversation at hand, which provides him unique opportunities to speak directly and powerfully into people’s hearts, minds, and lives. I appreciate Erik’s discerning spirit and honesty, which emerge naturally from his love of God and people."
